Glossary
Agent. A linked Gmail mailbox, with its own @name, model, effort and instructions. People mention it by name, and it posts from its address. In Claude Tag terms, the Claude app installed in a workspace. In the code it's called a workspace.
@name. What people write to mention an agent. Cloud by default (mentions ignore case); Owners and Admins can rename it.
Auto-approve rule. A plain sentence an admin writes, such as "Creating issues in the Platform project is fine," that lets a matching tool call go ahead without waiting for approval. Claude Tag's auto mode allow rule.
Approval. A tool call waiting for a group admin to approve or decline it on the group's Approvals page. Declined automatically after a day.
Connector. A remote MCP server the agent can call, with no sign-in, a bearer token, or OAuth. Belongs to one group, or to the whole organization.
Bundle. A named set of instructions, connectors, repositories, skills and secrets that applies to the groups matching its address patterns, to every group an agent is in, or to groups picked by hand.
Conversation. An email thread in a group, and its session. Claude Tag's thread.
Effort. How hard the model thinks: low to max.
Fast mode. A thread setting (!fast) that runs replies on Opus at a faster, more expensive speed. An Owner must allow it.
Google Drive. Files the agent reads as its own Google account, scoped to what each group can reach: linked in its mail, shared with its address, or shared with its Workspace domain.
Group. A Google Group the agent has joined. Each group has its own configuration, files, memory and spend. Claude Tag's channel.
Group admin. Someone who manages one group's settings. Claude Tag's channel manager.
Group files. Every attachment posted to the group, file uploaded by admins, and file the agent made. The agent can open any of them from any thread.
Group memory. The agent's notes for one group, kept across all its threads. Viewable and editable on the Memory page.
Observed participant. Someone whose verified mail to the group Cloud Tag has seen. This records communication, not current Google Group membership or a web access grant. Shared Group pages require a current organization role or a Group-admin grant.
Mention. @name anywhere in a message, the agent's name opening the message, or mail addressed to the agent. Starts a reply.
Network mode. What the sandbox can reach: full, limited to an allowlist, or none.
Organization. The account that holds an Anthropic API key, its agents, its Owners and Admins, and its defaults. Every group belongs to one.
Owner, Admin. The organization's roles. Both manage everything in it; only Owners add or remove people and allow fast mode.
Personal connector. A member's own connected account, used only for that member's requests, once they allow it in a thread.
Repository. A GitHub repository cloned into each of a group's sessions, with an agent's connected GitHub account or a token an admin provided.
Respond automatically. A group setting where the agent reads every new thread and replies when it can help.
Routine. A scheduled prompt. Each run starts a new thread in the group.
Secret. An API key stored in Vault as an environment variable, sent only to the hosts you list.
Session. The Managed Agents session behind a thread. Replaced after a settings change or !restart, and reseeded from the thread.
Shared notes. An agent's notes read in every group it's in, and written only from groups that allow it. Claude Tag's workspace memory.
Skill. A folder of instructions and scripts the agent loads when a task calls for it: built-in document skills, or ones you upload.
Turn. One piece of work: the agent reading new messages in a thread and producing a reply, or staying silent.
Vault. Anthropic Vault, where connector credentials and secrets are kept, outside the sandbox. One per group and one per organization.
